Posh Cauliflower Cheese

Posh Cauliflower CheeseIngredients needed are 1 cauliflower, 1 small green cabbage, 60g butter or marg, 60g wholemeal flour, 1 pint of milk, 120g of grated stilton (or cheese of your choice), 100g shelled chopped walnuts.

First wash the cauliflower and cabbage, break the cauliflower into small florets and thickly shred the cabbage.  Mix them in a large bowl and add about 5 tablespoons of water.  Cover with cling film and microwave for 10 minutes or until they are cooked but still nice and crunchy.

Then melt the butter in another bowl for 20 seconds, add the milk and flour mixing thoroughly.  Microwave for 4 minutes stiring halfway through.  Then add the grated cheese and chopped walnuts, mixing well.  Microwave for another 2 mins or until the cheese is completely melted.  Drain vegetables, and pour over the sauce ready to serve.  Put a sprig of something fancy on top if this makes you happy.  Should serve 4 people unless you are really hungry.

Update

Hello veg heads!

I haven’t added anything more to the blog for a few days but I have not abandoned it yet.  The charger for my camera is playing hide and seek.  Until I find it I can’t post the reviews I’ve been writing on some of the wonderful gadgets I’ve been spending my pennies on.

Inbetween frantic searches for the charger I’ve been sowing lots of seeds, buying mouldy garlic from Wilkinsons and taking it back, and constructing my first raised bed with link-a-bord.

Happy gardening.

 Colin
